Distinguishing Characteristics

• Pappus on achene consists of  several long bristles with short bristles in between. Leaves generally dissected.
   
• Compare with Lasthenia californica which has a pappus of equal length awns and entire leaves.

Habitat(s)

• Vernal pools.

• Native. Endemic to Central Valley vernal pools.
   
• Flowering time: March - May.
