Distinguishing Characteristics

• Pedicels 6-20 mm in fruit. Some plants may have a white corolla similar to Downingia, but most are apetalous.

• Vernal pools.

• Considered rare, threatened or endangered throughout its range by the California Native Plant Society.
   
• Native. Endemic to California vernal pools. May also occur in Chile
   
• Flowering time: April - June.
