Distinguishing Characteristics

• Upright, delicate plant. Nutlets have no prickles. 
   
• Compare with Plagiobothrys leptocladus which also has smooth nutlets, but is coarser and usually prostrate or decumbent.

Habitat(s)

• Vernal pools. Can be a dominant species in some pools.

Additional Information

• Native. Endemic to vernal pools of California and southeast Oregon.
   
• Flowering time: April - June.
