Wild Radish

Raphanus raphanistrum

Family: Brassicaceae (Mustard)

Habitat: disturbed areas and grassland

Notes: Generally blooms from mid spring into early summer. The seed pods have a distinctive radish-like flavor, especially when young. All members of the mustard family produce oils that can be fatal in large quantities. Mustard oils were used to make a toxic gas which was used during World War I.
