| Little Quaking Grass Briza
minor
Family: Poaceae
(Grass)
Habitat: grassland
(particularly moist areas)
Notes: Introduced.
While this grass is not native to California grasslands, its small
stature and early blooming time makes it a "naturalized"
member of the vernal pool grassland community. It does not out-compete
native species. The flower clusters resemble rattlesnake
tails when examined with a handlens. |
